City of Hope

Youth crews getting down to business
 

The City of Hope, sponsored by the CorpsNetwork, is in full-swing operations with the NEG funded Youth Career Development project in St. Bernard Parish.  Currently, three crews of young adults enrolled in this great opportunity have kicked-off the program by selecting conservation/construction projects that will benefit individuals and the parish as a whole.  In addition to researching and selecting the projects, the youth, along with their crew leaders, develop a proposal detailing the budget, equipment needed, and steps for project completion.  They are also responsible for assisting in soliciting donations of money and/or equipment and applying for any required permits.
