Was your business in operation prior to Hurricane Katrina? Is your business domiciled in a storm impacted parish? The Louisiana Department of Labor, Business and Career Solutions Centers and the Small Business Development Center are offering Capitalization Grants of $5000 per business to those businesses who can demonstrate a financial need and indicate the use of the capitalization funds and their benefit to the future stability of their business.

All federal and state taxes must be current. The Capitalization Grant funds CANNOT be used to supplant existing obligations (i.e., pay off existing loans). The small business owner will also be required as part of the program to participate and successfully complete a 10 hour SBDC Entrepreneurial Training program.
